NOTW: Red & Silver Glitter

It's definitely been way too long since I did a NOTW.

I painted my nails today while watching the Royal wedding. Kate looked so beautiful in her dress and it was so cute! I couldn't help but smile through all of it :)

For this NOTW, I used Barry M Nail Paint 150 Red Glitter, E.L.F. Glitter Glam, and a Julie France Nail Enamel in 107. I don't think the Julie France polishes still exist.. I borrowed it off my sister and she bought it ages ago.

 Under desk lamp lighting:
Apologies for dodgy painting on little finger!

 Natural lighting:

I love the Barry M Red Glitter. I really want the Blue Glitter now! I wish they did a Gold Glitter too :P

On a different note, isn't it crazy how fast we've gone through April?! We're almost half way through the year!!

Daily Life: Making food more interesting

For some reason, I really didn't feel like eating rice tonight, so I decided to see what I could make from the stuff we had at home. I randomly had a really big craving for egg.. so I fried two. When they stuck to the 'non stick' frying pan, I got really annoyed and decided to scramble them, haaa.

Egg and sweetcorn?! What?
Yes, egg and sweetcorn. And yes, it did taste really weird. It made the egg taste really bad hahaha. Won't be doing that again any time soon.

I just felt like shaping my food and making it look more interesting. I always feel like better presentation will make food taste better, make you look more confident, more awake, more alive. Yes, I am talking about clothes and general presentation in the last few.

NB. I'm posting this here because I've decided that this is not just a 'beauty blog'. This is my personal blog so I'm just going to start posting whatever I want on here. I hope you guys don't mind. Let me know if you'd prefer me to posting these non-beauty ones somewhere else.

ANYWAY.

I'm leaving for uni soon, and I don't really know how I feel about it. Last semester, last exams, last everything really. I've already had my last lectures, and I've paid my last instalment of rent. I'll get my last student loan, and I'll see all my friends for the last time. LOL I just realised that makes it sound like I'm gonna die. Oops. Not that I know I won't die tomorrow or something.

Okay, enough emo-ness.

I've had a really good month at home. I always miss it so much when I go away. I know that people don't understand what it is about family that I find to be so important, etc., and I know that perhaps no one will ever really understand apart from me and my family. I think that upbringing plays a large part in how close you are to your family, and despite people thinking that still living with your parents at mid 20s+ is ridiculous, I don't care. I would live with them forever if I could.

I don't believe that means I'm not independent despite what everyone keeps telling me because I know that I am.

I've been getting so much negativity and slack from people lately that even though I know it's not true and it's stupidly big headed, I'm starting to just reply to people with you're just jealous.

Enough for today. Need to work.. post again soon.

Daily Life/Haul: I spent two hours in Boots..

As I mentioned in my last post (about a week ago *sigh* I really need to start posting more), I met up with my friend Christine yesterday and we went out to Westfield for a 'bit of shopping'. I can't tell you how that 'bit' of shopping became a total draining of my bank account hahaha.

We went for lunch at Nando's:
Obligatory asian picture of food

And then we set off for Boots.. where we actually spent two whole hours going down each and every make up aisle repeatedly, trying to decide how to get the most out of the 3 for 2 deal. Christine wanted a Barry M nail polish but figured it wouldn't be worth paying about £15 for 2 things and then only getting a £3 polish for free, so she picked up 6 things in the 3 for 2, and got her nail polish separately. It's so true! That's why I didn't get the Barry M shatter in Blue that I wanted.

So, what did I get?

The Boots wipes weren't in the 3 for 2. They were just 3 for £3 so I bought 3 packs. I like having face wipes to wipe off make up before washing my face because I feel like face wash doesn't remove make up thoroughly. I usually use the Simple face wipes because I have sensitive skin, but this was a pretty good deal.. worth a shot.

Fragrance free - perfect!
Suitable for skin that is sensitive or allergic to perfume

I used one of these wipes last night, and my first impressions were that it was no where near as 'wet' as the Simple face wipes. I seem to remember the Simple ones feeling quite refreshing, but these just felt a little damp and seemed to dry out quickly. I don't know if I'd buy these again - I don't think it got rid of as much make up as the Simple ones can.

No! They are not the same colours!! ><

I picked up 6 things in the 3 for 2: 4 lipsticks, 1 lip gloss, and a No 17 Photo Flawless Mascara in Black Copper for my sister. I stupidly didn't check the mascara until about 3 hours later (I was still in Westfield), and found that the mascara had actually been used before and was basically empty T_T Why do I always get the faulty goods? T_T

I took it back and told the cashier that I'd only just seen it, and because the packaging was still intact on the lid when I bought it, I'd assumed that it was new. Luckily the manager had spoken to me earlier and remembered me, so she swapped the mascara for a new one.

YAY for being lucky once in my life.

Left to right: Revlon Pink in the Afternoon, Maybelline Colour Sensational in Pink Brown, Maybelline Colour Sensational in Mystic Mauve, No 17 Shine On in Flirty.

Look what happened when I opened the lid to swatch my No 17 lippie!! *cry*
I hate when this happens!!! And it was brand new as well!! *complains some more*

Here are some swatches.. I apologise for my scaly hand... ><
Left to right: Pink in the Afternoon, Pink Brown, Mystic Mauve, Flirty

You can't tell, but I promise you that each lipstick is different to the other in terms of shade, colour, pigmentation, etc. I'll do a separate post for proper swatches and reviews because this is getting really long ><

I forgot to mention that from the way the cashier *beeped* my items, I ended up getting the 3rd most expensive and the 6th cheapest thing (overall cheapest thing) for free! I figured he'd put all 6 things through the till and that the 2 cheapest things would be free, but no! I think I got a pretty good deal muahaha. Maybe you guys should try making them *beep* items in a certain order when you next have a 3 for 2 offer ;) I know I will cos I'm so cheap hahahaha

After Boots we went clothes shopping and I picked up some shorts from New Look. I'm sure they'll feature in an OOTD soon if I can figure out a way to take full body length pictures at uni.

For dinner we went to Wagamama's:
Chicken Katsu Curry

Teriyaki Chicken Rice

Not sure what this was called, but basically about 5 dumplings with loads of beansprout

It was a really good day out, and I had a lot of much needed fun. I love hanging out and going shopping with Christine -  I always have so much fun, and I think it's partly because we have quite a few similar interests. We have so many memories and experiences together even though I've known her for just over a year! Thanks for coming out Chu :P

I'll stop being cheesy now, hahaha

Now I have to go finish my coursework and dissertation >< I'll try and post more over this week but if not, then my next post will probably be after I hand in all my work on Tuesday.. Wish me luck guys!

Also, William and Kate's wedding is tomorrow! Who will be tuning in to watch it? If not, what will you be doing?

Take care guys!

Daily Life/Haul/Offers: Everything shoved into one post

I finally got out of the house and managed to get to a shopping centre yesterday!! *overly happy* I haven't been out the house apart from going to the supermarket (which doesn't count as shopping) since I've been home, and I thought I was going to go crazy from reading papers T_T

Anyways, we went to 'yum cha' (aka go eat dim sum and literally drink tea) with my grandparents, then we ended up at the Harlequin to do a bit of quick shopping. And by quick, I really mean I spent about 45 minutes in M&S waiting for, and then getting, a bra fitting, and then spending all of 5 minutes in Boots before I had to head off home.

And look what I managed to get!! I'd been really wanting the pink, blue and white Nail Effects since I'd heard they'd released them, so once I saw that they had the pink, I had to get it. For some reason they didn't even have a space on the Barry M stand for the white and blue, so I guess they just don't sell them at all in Boots. My sister managed to pick up the blue one for my cousin last time, but she got it from Superdrug so I'm going to look there when I'm next out. I also really wanted the red glitter so I got that too :P The black polish is for my sister - she was looking for a good black polish to paint her tips so I figured I'd get that too seeing as it would basically be free..

Because Boots are doing 3 for 2 across ALL COSMETICS! When I saw that I was so gutted I couldn't stay for longer. I really wanted to take a look at the Maybelline Colour Sensational lipsticks and the Rimmel and Revlon stands. I told my friend about the offer they're having and we both said that we HAVE to go to Boots when I meet up with her next week - I think I've turned her into a make up addict too hahaha

I asked the SA when the Boots offer would end and she said it would be on for the next 4 weeks so we've all got plenty of time to wait for loans or pay cheques :P

Also, I don't know how weird this will sound because I haven't seen anyone post about them, but after my bra fitting, I basically have to throw out all the ones I own because it turns out I've been wearing the wrong size for about a year and a half T_T The lady at M&S was really helpful and was telling me everything that was wrong with the one I was wearing, and what it should be like, etc. I really recommend getting measured at M&S instead of La Senza (if you live in the UK)!

I have actually been told the past two years when I got measured that the size I was wearing was wrong, but because the size that I measured to be dug into my ribs and was seriously uncomfortable, staff at La Senza told me that I would be okay wearing the size that I was already wearing even though it didn't actually fit.

When I went to M&S yesterday, I had exactly the same problem with exactly the same sizes, but the sales assistant helped me find a solution to that. I'm now a totally different size and it fits perfectly. I don't think I'll be going back to La Senza for fittings. Now I just feel like they say you're okay whatever size just to make you buy their stuff T_T

I was going to post up pics of my new pretty bras but then I thought that it would be really weird.. even though I just wrote about getting a bra fitting for the whole of the internet to read... :/

ANYWAYS.

Have any of you girls ever worn the wrong size thinking it was right? Did it shock you that there could be such a big difference both in comfort and 'the numbers' between the size you thought you were compared to the size you actually measured to be?

Also as a side Q, how old do you guys think I am?
(I ask this question because I got told I looked 15 and 12 yesterday so now I'm curious)

PS. I hope this post wasn't too weird.

Haul: ASOS & Forever 21

I'm finally back! I feel like I've been away for ages when in reality it's only been a week.. (I think I'm getting addicted to blogging).. you probably didn't even realise I was gone :P

I mentioned last time when I posted my ASOS and eBay haul that I would post my ASOS and Forever 21 purchases as well. Sorry it's been so delayed >< I've been over loaded with work but I always keep my promises so here it is :)

I got two stretchy high waisted skirts in royal blue and khaki, a 3/4 length long brown top and a pair of flats from Forever 21. I bought a dress as well but I returned that - I didn't get a chance to try it on before returning it because I was away from home when the order arrived, but I got my sister to try it on for me because we're basically the same size and build.

(I apologise for the quality of the next two pictures..)

I thought the box was so nice cos I've never seen such a thin shoe box before ^^"

I love the encrusted beads/'jewels' on these shoes!! You can tell by the fact I got carried away with taking pictures of it :P I'm worried the bronzey-gold colour will be hard to match clothes but if not then I'll just wear them all the time with tights hahaha

If you've got suggestions of what you think it'll look good with, please leave me a comment and let me know! :) I love getting opinions :P

I do want to have a little rant about the customer service at Forever 21 though. I applied for a refund the day after the parcel was delivered but it took them a week to organise a collection, and when it came to the day of collection, they never turned up. I had to contact them again (twice), and my sister had to wait pointlessly at home on two more dates before they finally collected it (on a totally different and unorganised date as well). RAH >< Okay, rant over.

This is the bag that I got from ASOS with my Groupon voucher. Original price was £37 (I think) but I got it for £26 :) The first thing that hit me when I opened up the plastic packaging that it was in, was the smell - there was such a strong smell of plastic >< But it's such a pretty bag! I really like the style and the mini double straps on the side, but I think it definitely needs a bit of airing out before I start taking it out with me :/

Hope you enjoyed my haul :)

I'll leave you all with some pictures from my week :P

What happens when I have a looming deadline..

Pretty BBQ!! ^^

I hope to catch up on sleep and reduce my eye bags some how this week hahaha. What are you guys up to this week? Hope you all have a good one!

Love, Priscilla Xx

OOTD: My first ever OOTD

We went out for dinner yesterday and it was the most laughs I've had in a long long time. Days like these just make me miss home so much when I'm away!

Anyways, here is my very first outfit of the day!

The outfit that I wore to dinner.. ta-daaa:

Apologies for the bathroom scenery! haha

I realised that they weren't particularly good shots so then I went and asked my sister to help me out:
Had to chop off the sides of the pic so sorry it's weird!

My sister caught me off guard in this last photo but I thought it showed the pattern on my dress quite well so I decided I'd include it :P

My outfit actually only consists of two shops :/ New Look and Primark!

New Look: Bag, Dress, Cardigan
Primark: Pearl bracelets, Tights
The necklace is a gift from my sister :)

I wore some flats when I went out :P I was going to wear sandals cos it was so warm earlier in the day but then it started to rain so I had to go grab some tights -_-

Hope you liked my first OOTD!

Priscilla, Xx

PS. I desperately need a hair cut!!

Wish List: Uniqlo Printed Tees

So I've ordered some tees from Uniqlo for my cousin, and everyone's been really into the Big Bang hype when their tees came out, but I wasn't really interested in that. However, I got sent a newsletter from Uniqlo the other day, and I saw a tee that I'm now lusting after! >< They seem to be doing a lot of collaborations lately, and now they've teamed up with ANTONI & ALISON, Franche Lippee, Warner Bros and Disney, and Cath Kidston's selling charity shirts. Like what?! WANT! So I've been browsing and I thought I'd share what I want to pick up from the store once I finish this dissertation of mine..

These two shirts are so cute!! I originally wanted the off white one, but now I can't decide between the two colours!

I really like both of these as well! Which one do you prefer? (Which one should I get?) I really can't afford both but they're so cute :(

These two are from Franche Lippee, and I really like both of these colours as well! You can probably tell by now that I'm amazingly indecisive. Your input is greatly appreciated!! Someone help me decide!! hahaha

These Cath Kidston tees don't really look that special, but I figured the top one would look pretty good with some accessorising. I do however think they look a bit more like pajamas than casual tees? (Especially the bottom one :/ I think it's the pale print.)

Help me out guys.. which tops do you like from the different collections, or from the ones that I've posted here? Which ones should I get?

Gifts: Front Cover Collection

My friend got me these from the Front Cover Winter/Autumn 2010 Collection for Christmas, and I've still not had the chance to use them! I know Winter and Autumn are long gone, but I figured it'd be good to share them here because you never know when someone might be looking for a swatch or a review :P

I got given the Front Cover Deluxe Moonlit Metals set, and the Sparkle Exotic Eyes set.

Moonlit Metals contains 6 loose pigment powder pots, 2 loose glitter pots, an eyeshadow primer, and a double ended applicator.

It also came with instructions on how to use the pigments and glitters on the inside and the back of the box.

The Exotic Eyes kit contains 3 domed baked powder shadows, and also contains the loose pigment pot Cloud Dancer, which is also in the Moonlit Metals kit. The set also contains a double ended applicator, a double ended blue/black mascara and top coat sealer, and a blue/black cream kohl liner with a smudger on the other end.

The inside of the lid also contains a mirror, whilst the back of the kit also includes instructions on how to get a specific look.

I haven't managed to swatch them and take pictures yet but I'll try get some tomorrow in natural light and upload ASAP. Apparently 21 degrees tomorrow! :D (Celcius)

Also, my last ASOS order came today!! Excited to show you guys my bag :) I don't think I'll open my friend's package though, that'd probably be a bit rude :/

Hope you're all having a good week :)

Priscilla, Xx

*EDIT* (06-04-11):

I've managed to take some true colour pics of the shadows! My sister kindly lent me her DSLR so I've got some amazing quality pics to share with you guys :) Didn't swatch the loose pigment pots because I didn't want them to get all over her camera, but I've got some pics to share nonetheless :D

Exotic Eyes
You can see the shimmer on the Black Spark shadow a lot better in the picture above. The picture below more or less shows the true colour of the Black Spark shadow - it really is more black than blue compared to when it's in its baked dome shadow form.

Baby Blue was quite disappointing because it came out hardly blue! I thought it was such a pretty colour in the kit so I was a bit annoyed. Moondust is just a shimmery shadow - it's literally pale shimmer instead of a cream white shadow that might be expected.

Moonlit Metals

Like I said before, I didn't manage to get swatches but I did manage to get close up and good quality pictures of each pigment/glitter pot!

Sparkler
Moonshine

Dawn Chorus

Cloud Dancer

Nightfall

Deep Lake

Darkly

Prism Violet

Prism Violet (again)

Cloud Dancer also comes in the Exotic Eyes set so I didn't bother taking photos of that twice. Hope this helped a little bit? Now, back to my dissertation T_T
