Last month was so busy and just flew by! Haven't signed in for a while and had a slight panic as I thought Blogger had deleted all the blogs in my Reading List... luckily everything reappeared after I refreshed the page. *phew* I would be up for discovering new blogs though, so let me know if you have any recommendations!
Anyway, here are my April Favourites for this year! (Can't quite believe that my only monthly favourites post was written exactly two years ago...)
1. Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation
I've actually had this foundation for years.. I remember going into Superdrug in my first year, determined to get three basic items at the very beginning of my *addiction*: a foundation that matched me, a waterproof eyeliner, and a mascara. Two out of three of those are things that I still love - one of them being this foundation.
The range of foundations are mainly yellow based, which made it easier to find a colour that matched my Asian skin tone. I have it in shade '100 Ivory'. It claims to last for 16 hours, and does not contain SPF, which means you don't get that nasty white cast with flash photography.
I can't vouch for its claim of being transfer resistant and fade proof for up to 16 hours, but I can say that it doesn't transfer or melt off my skin for up to 12 hours :) I don't think I've ever had any make up on for longer than that... it doesn't dry my skin out, doesn't seem to accentuate dry patches, and doesn't turn my forehead into an oil field!
The product has now been repackaged and possibly reformulated as the claim is now of up to 25 hours transfer resistance... I really hope the reformulation hasn't changed the shade or properties of the foundation, because I think this is one that I will be repurchasing.
2. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
This was my first MAC purchase, made two years ago and featured in one of my very first blog posts :) With lots of break outs and subsequent scarring lately, I have been on the hunt for a good liquid concealer as I feel these are less drying than cream ones. I've always liked the coverage of this product, but never understood why it seemed to make my blemishes and scars cake up and stand out >< After a little experimentation this month, I found that less really is more, and have been using this product every time I've applied make up. I've been tempted to try the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer, but I think I'll be sticking with this for a while!
3. MAC Copperplate Eye Shadow (Matte2)
I've been into doing my brows lately and this is the product that I've been using. I like how it's more subtle than a pencil, and the colour is great for my hair colour too - black or dark brown shades usually look strange, so this matte grey shade is perfect. I really want to try the Lioele Auto Eyebrow Pencil in Grey Black though, which I am tempted to get once my make up ban comes to an end.
4. Urban Decay Primer Potion
This has been great for prolonging the life of eye shadow on my oily lids, and does a good job of making the colours appear more pigmented too. As my E.L.F. eye lid primer has dried out, I have been using this and haven't noticed much difference between the two. Of course, the E.L.F. is a lot cheaper and purse friendly, but I like how this is travel sized so I can take it when I travel :) I would get a replacement E.L.F. primer if I didn't have to pay about £3 shipping for a £1.50 product... I wonder if you use less UD product than E.L.F. for the same result? Anybody know?
5. Accessorize Baked Bronzer Duo in Bondi
Not much to say about this one apart from: "it seems to have become a staple"! The paler shade is great for highlighting, and the darker shade isn't too muddy for my pale complexion. There's a slight shimmer to it but not the type that gives you a disco ball for a face. The two colours can also be used as eye shadow if you don't like it on your face :)
6. Maybelline Superstay 14 Hour Lipstick in Stay With Me Coral
I only got this recently but really like how the colour is so bright, and it really does stay for an age. It seems to make my teeth look whiter too! I like to moisturise my lips before application to ensure that it doesn't settle into lines. It really is a beautiful colour.

I've been reaching for this over my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil - they are equally as creamy and waterproof. It's a much cheaper alternative, and has quite a variety of colours too!
I must admit that you waste a lot of product when you sharpen these pencils due to their creaminess but I heard you get the same amount of product wastage with UD pencils... this is a much cheaper alternative of probably the same quality! I have it in black, silver, purple and shimmery brown, but my favourites this month have been the black and shimmery brown for neutral spring looks.
8. Clinique Eye Shadow Quad
This quad came with a Clinique Bonus Time and is the perfect size for putting into your hand bag. It contains two neutral colours, a purple, and a pink - perfect for natural Spring make up.

9. Nivea Hydro Care Lip Balm
I've tried a lot of lip balms, and this is the only one that seems to keep my lips moisturised long after application. So if your lips get chapped and dry easily, I highly recommend this one!
10. Tangle Teezer
After all the hype over this apparently innovative hairbrush, I jumped on the bandwagon and got one for myself. For a start, I love the sparkly pattern on it. Secondly, it actually does a good job of de-tangling my hair without yanking it all out, unlike every other hair brush that I've tried. I have the problem of losing a whole ton of hair every time I wash it or brush it, so anything that will reduce hair loss, I am willing to try! This really does the job and I hope it'll stop me losing as much hair. Any other hair loss tips would be highly appreciated!! :)
That's it for my April Favourites! Thank you for reading my super long post - I always get carried away ><
What have your favourites been this month? :)
